RSPCA Doggie Diraies; Week 32 - Kia

Kia is a very nice German Shepherd who hasn’t had a great start in life.
She was a bit of a handful to start with but after a little while she began to trust us and started having a good time and even enjoyed a bit of fuss.
She wasn’t very good with other dogs and we had to keep her under control but she was very good with the horses and pigs and she doesn’t take much notice of people. She wasn’t very interested in treats or toys, she just pottered around investigating things at her own pace.
She will need some training to build a bond with someone but we think she’ll make a good companion with someone who’ll give her the love she deserves and show her that life can be fun again.

RSPCA Doggie Diaries; Week 31 - Max, Rio & Dino

This weekend we took out little Max again but this time with Rio who has now gone to his new home! They both loved playing rough together and there was lots of ear biting! We took them out with our dog Ben and they got on very nicely together.
Then we took out Dino who as been at the shelter for about a year now and we haven’t walked him since he first came in. He came in with a lot of dog aggression and he was a bit of a nightmare to take out sometimes but now he is a different dog! That staff have done wonders with him and now he is getting on much better with other dogs and we even took him out for a long walk with out dog and they got on very well, we are so proud of him! We hope this improvment will mean he gets a home soon as he is a great dog with a really lovely nature!

RSPCA Doggie Diaries; Week 30 - Max

This week we walked a gorgeous little Staffy puppy called Max.

He’s just the cutest little boy, he has so much love to give and has lots of character. He was originally part of a litter at the RSPCA but unfortunately has been returned through no fault of his own. His previous owners have obviously been very loving and responsible as he is very obedient even at this early age, he knows some tricks, he’s very good on the lead and he absolutely loves other dogs. He made lots of new doggy friends this week on his walks and has been investigating some ducks and piglets.

As you can see he loves the outdoors and had lots of fun jumping through the long grass. He’s a very special little boy and we hope he gets a home very soon as he will be a wonderful, loyal companion.

RSPCA Doggie Diaries; Week 29 - Trixie

This week we walked little Trixie again. She has really come out of her shell since we last walked her! Stephy has really fallen in love with her and wishes she could take her home. She really is a fantastic dog with such a sweet nature, she loves kisses and cuddles and she’s lots of fun.
She’s very inquisitive and likes to put her front legs up on the bridge we walk over to watch the cars zip past down below. She walks like a dream on the lead and seems to be very gentle with other dogs she meets.
We hope she gets a lovely home very soon as she really is special.

Just because Otters are cool.
The Chestnut Centre Otter, Owl & Wildlife Park is well worth a visit.
We had an amazing day and they do really good work rehabilitating animals and getting them back out into the wild.
